Frequently asked questions
How is the MDCAT aggregate calculated?
Under the PMDC admission regulations the aggregate is 10% Matric (SSC) + 40% FSc (HSSC) + 50% MDCAT. MDCAT marks are first turned into a percentage of the total (180 for MDCAT 2025). Example: 92% Matric, 88% FSc and 174/180 in MDCAT give 9.2 + 35.2 + 48.3333 = 92.7333%.
How is the NUMS aggregate calculated?
NUMS uses the same weighting: 10% SSC + 40% HSSC + 50% NUMS MDCAT. The calculator assumes a NUMS MDCAT total of 200; if your result card shows a different total, change it under “Adjust weights and test total”.
What is the UET ECAT aggregate formula?
For UET Lahore’s ECAT-based programmes, Matric counts 25%, FSc Part-I 45% and ECAT 30%. ECAT is out of 400. O-level candidates use their IBCC equivalence for the full 70% academic share, so enter the same IBCC percentage in both fields. Example: 90% Matric, 85% FSc Part-I and 280/400 ECAT give 81.7500%.
How do I calculate my semester GPA?
Multiply each course’s grade points by its credit hours, add those up, and divide by the total credit hours. A 3-credit A (4.0) and a 1-credit C (2.0) give (12 + 2) ÷ 4 = 3.50, not the simple average 3.00. Pick your university in the GPA calculator to use its grading scale.
What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?
GPA covers one semester. CGPA (cumulative GPA) covers every semester so far, weighted by credit hours: multiply each semester’s GPA by its credit hours, add them, and divide by the total credit hours. The CGPA calculator also tells you the GPA you need next semester to reach a target CGPA.
Which universities’ grading scales are included?
The GPA calculator covers 113 Pakistani universities. Scales for COMSATS, COMSATS Lahore, NUST, Punjab University (PU) are checked against official university documents and marked “Official scale”. The others use a general 4.00 scale marked “Estimated scale”; for an exact GPA, switch to “Grade points” and enter the values from your transcript.
How many classes can I miss and still keep 75% attendance?
Divide the classes you have attended by 0.75 and subtract the classes held so far; round down. With 35 of 40 classes attended you can miss 6 more in a row (35 ÷ 46 = 76.1%), but a 7th would drop you to 74.5%.
